A bright yellow steel beam was placed beside the statue of PeeDee the Pirate in the courtyard outside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium where it was then signed with purple markers by East Carolina University alumni, Board of Trustees members, and administrators, before being hoisted by a crane to its final destination atop Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. This yellow beam was the last steel beam to be used in the $60-million stadium renovation project. Over half of that cost, nearly $33 million, was funded by Pirate Club supporters. We are so pleased to have worked on a project that clearly means so much to so many.
ColeJenest & Stone provided landscape architecture and civil engineering services on this project that will add about 1,000 premium seats in a four-story structure that will also house a new club level, suites, and loge boxes. Go, Pirates!
